Refugio County City Warrants Stay Local
Each municipal court keeps its own ordinance and traffic matters. A city FTA or capias pro fine may not appear in the county sheriff's contact page, and a county JP warrant does not become a city-court record. Refugio County has three municipal courts confirmed in the official state and local sources: Bayside, Refugio, and Woodsboro.
Austwell is an incorporated place, but the official pages reviewed did not identify a municipal court, clerk hours, or warrant portal. That gap is not proof that no court or warrant exists. Start with City Hall and ask which court holds the citation.
Refugio County Municipal Court Warrants
A municipal judge may issue city-court process for ordinance, traffic, and failure-to-appear matters. A fine judgment may lead to capias pro fine steps. The city court controls its file and decides whether to accept payment, set an appearance, consider a plan, or recall process after a voluntary appearance.
Refugio County's sheriff page has no public active list, and no citywide roster was found. A city resident should contact the court named on the ticket. If the court says the warrant was served or custody is involved, ask the sheriff or jail where the next question belongs.
Refugio Municipal Court Search Scope
Refugio Municipal Court's vendor-hosted TrafficPayment page is the only local city-court search form found. It accepts driver's-license and state, name and date of birth, plate and state, citation and date of birth, account number, or service-address name. The notice says the page is not for Refugio County court citations.
All payments, including warrants, must be made in full unless the court is contacted about partial payment. Deferred disposition, driving-safety-course, and payment-plan payments are excluded. A rejected or refunded payment may not return the processing fee. A search result is not a warrant-status guarantee; call the court at 361-526-5364 before paying or assuming the warrant is gone.
For the separate traffic-court flow, see the Refugio County traffic warrant instructions.
Refugio County Cities With Municipal Courts
Three municipal courts appear in the official Texas Judicial Branch and city sources. Each handles its own city cases. Austwell's online record set is different: City Hall publishes local notices and contacts, but no court or warrant page was located. County or unincorporated-area citations should be routed to the JP named on the ticket.
| City | Court | What It Handles |
|---|---|---|
| Refugio | Refugio Municipal Court | City traffic and ordinance cases; TrafficPayment search, court call for warrant status |
| Woodsboro | Woodsboro Municipal Court | City traffic and ordinance cases; call clerk, no online warrant search located |
| Bayside | Bayside Municipal Court | City traffic and ordinance cases; court says payment information is coming soon |
| Austwell | Not identified in reviewed official pages | Call City Hall to identify the correct court; do not infer none exists |
Bayside and Woodsboro Need Clerk Calls
Bayside Municipal Court publishes 909 First Street, a phone number, and weekday morning hours; its city page says traffic-payment information is coming soon. The official police page says county sheriff deputies provide police support. That does not erase the municipal court's separate case role: call the court about a citation and the sheriff for law-enforcement routing.
Woodsboro lists a municipal court, courthouse hours, holiday closures, and dress rules, but no online warrant or citation lookup was located. Its police department page has no dedicated warrant number. Call the court first, then ask the sheriff which agency holds the process if directed.
Checking a Municipal Court Warrant
For a Refugio County city ticket, start with the municipal court printed on the citation. Give the clerk your name, date of birth, and citation number, then ask whether there is an FTA, capias, or other warrant and what step clears it.
- For Refugio, use the city TrafficPayment interface for a citation lookup, then call 361-526-5364 about warrant status.
- For Bayside, call the municipal court at 361-529-6520; its payment page is not yet published.
- For Woodsboro, call the court at 361-543-4506; the city site lists hours but no search form.
- For Austwell, call City Hall at 361-349-1399 to identify the correct court before requesting a record.
- If the court cannot answer online or by phone, ask about an in-person clerk check or a narrow Texas PIA request.
Austwell Starts With City Hall
Austwell's official page provides City Hall contact details and publishes ordinances, audits, and notices. It has no separate municipal court, police, citation, warrant, or payment page in the sources reviewed. Call the city secretary to identify the correct court, then ask that clerk about the citation and any FTA or capias process.
Refugio County Animal Control lists interlocal services for Austwell and the other incorporated places, but that agreement does not say which agency serves a warrant. If City Hall directs a reader to county law enforcement, call the sheriff and ask which court controls the matter.
Inside a Municipal Court Warrant
Refugio County publishes no sample municipal warrant entry or local number pattern. The Refugio vendor interface displays citation search routes, not an active-warrant schema. Ask the court which identifiers and status fields are available for release before relying on a payment screen.
| Warrant / citation number | Local format not published; use the ticket number or ask the clerk. |
|---|---|
| Offense or trigger | City ordinance, traffic matter, missed date, or unpaid judgment as recorded. |
| Issuing court | Bayside, Refugio, Woodsboro, or another court identified by the city. |
| Fine / bond | Confirm amount, type, and approved payment route with the court. |
| Status | Ask whether active, served, recalled, quashed, or cleared. |
Refugio County Has No City Roster
No official full active-warrant roster was located for Bayside, Refugio, or Woodsboro. Refugio's vendor page searches one court's citations; it does not publish a list of active warrants. A county sheriff page with no name result cannot confirm that a city record is clear, because municipal courts keep their own files.
Key point: A city warrant can be absent from the sheriff's page and still require a city-court call. Ask the issuing municipal clerk for the current record.
For a personal status question, do not copy third-party names or treat a search result as official. The court controls its own recall or payment instructions.
How to Resolve a Municipal Court Warrant
The municipal court that issued a Refugio County city warrant decides the next step. Ask whether the case needs full payment, an appearance, a reset, personal bond, or a judge's recall. There is no countywide bond schedule or uniform city payment portal. A lawyer can help arrange a voluntary appearance or motion when the case calls for it.
- Confirm the city court, warrant label, amount, and appearance rule.
- Ask about voluntary appearance, recall, payment in full, or a court-approved plan.
- Use the court's approved channel and keep the receipt or signed order.
- Ask when the court record will show the warrant recalled and whether it reported FTA/FTP compliance.
- Confirm the underlying case date; release or payment may not end the charge.
Warning: Do not assume a city citation is clear because it is absent from a county page. Confirm the status with the issuing municipal court.
